I can SEE clearly now…

I’m glad that ordeal is over and whatever bacteria (not sure it was a virus) invaded my eyes will never be back.

Today was the first day of school (sorry not to answer LadyElms!) for me.  I’m taking Anatomy and Physiology Part 1 which goes from atoms up to the central nervous system.  If I don’t bomb out I will qualify automatically into the next semester for the rest of the body.  I think I’ll do pretty well now that I get to have hands on a cadaver (she has a male and a female specimen for us to um, handle).  My A&P course with my distance midwifery course was one dimensional and my “lab” was working on real pregnant women (they tend not to like to be dissected much ).  If I’m really good in these two semesters I could be invited onto a team she will personally supervise from first cut to last organ out when she gets her fresh cadaver.  We have 24 people in the class; 20 women, 4 men.  All aspring medical somethings or others from EMTs to firefighters to dental hygeinist to lab techs to nurses to midwives (okay that’s just me).  I’m looking forward to more already because the teacher is a fireball and is hilarious.

Next we have English Composition, which was pointed out more than once to me was Freshman English.   No joke, dude.  I could easily be the mother of any of the kids in the class after a hot night back in ’87.  Holy schnikes, I’m not kidding.  They were all Front Range High Class of ’06 for crying out loud.  It must’ve been a LONG time since the teacher had such an elderly student because she didn’t even know what to say to me when I introduced myself as someone who already was what she was going to be when she grew up.  Seriously stumped her.  Midwife, eh?  Next!  How ’bout you, son?  Anyway the big assignments will be to write five 500 word essays on yet to be determined topics.  My husband said, “No problem.  You knock that out in a few blogs a day!”  I love him.

Friday is pre-algebra.  The first of five math courses I will need just to bring me up to par with the rest of civilization.
