Renewed

I got a letter from the school I went to as a wee punk, which amounted to being a copy of the form I filled out begging academic renewal.  The form was a grid that asked me to name the class I wished to make disappear, grade I earned, year it happened, and my signature.  No other information other than a line for the counselor’s signature, along with the signatures of the Deans of Counseling and Admissions.  It had a notation from the very unhelpful counselor who sent me the original form following a phone “counseling” session that required hoops be jumped first.  On the form was a scribble that said

Posted to online transcript.

I know, I know, what’s not to love about that information?  What is not crystal clear about what just happened there?  I went to the school’s website to log on to my online transcript (use “bunny ears” gestures when you read that) only there is no such service.  I called the counselor and left her another message but did that mostly for the self-hate* value of doing it.  Then I called the main office and asked for some assistance.  The clueless clerk had no idea what I was asking for but assured me I was not on academic probation.   No matter what, not on academic probation.  I told him I had never been on academic probation, but that wasn’t why I was calling.  He finally was able to exchange probation for renewal and we were in business!  He asked me to hold so he could call the counselor who signed it but I assured him she would be of no help since she doesn’t actually do work there.  He was kind and put me on hold to ask for help and came back excited to tell me that my grades have been cleared!  They will still appear but like a W on a transcript it will not figure into the GPA.

So I am now officially a 3.0 student!
